Engine backfires or pops through intake or exhaust. Just hit something hard with my blade. Starter rope is jerked out of my hand when trying to start.

Service push mower. Clean carburetor. For the needle seat install: find a drill bit shank or roll pin punch the size of the needle hole.

Engine surges or won’t start. Replace carburetor diaphragm and gasket under carburetor.

Testing for a bad coil/armature on small engine.
